It came in lumps,
in quantum jumps.
None of the violence
of tropical storm,
but the measured beat
of sand, falling through
holes in the hand,
and molten clocks,
draped on rubbery branches.
Here and there, it
ran its many forked tongue,
insidiously slithering through,
now coiling, now flexing,
changing color and form,
defying logic and norm.
now fragile glassy,
now shiny globules,
that chase each other.
Again beautiful crystalline
diffracting many hued light;
in fact, passing in and out,
through states of existence
and nothingness, forging
meaning out of the hollows
of abject non-essence,
and then ceasing action
with an upraised midfinger
at causal and Karmic laws.
